Weather Conditions Improving 4 Great Days Ahead

The bulk of the rain has moved on through and we are about to begin a drying process that brings real improvement to our weather In fact we will have 4 days of no rain and sunshine and really nice mid to late day weather to enjoy for the rest of the week and for the first day (Saturday) of the holiday weekend. The satellite picture does show a lot of clouds around but in the Northern Great Lakes you can see clear skies. That sliver of dry air expands over the next several days as high pressure builds into the Northeast  & Middle Atlantic States.

REGIONAL RADAR

Much of the rain on the radar is moving to the east and offshore. There are still a few residual showers around and even a few thunderstorms to the south in Eastern Maryland & Virginia but those will be gone soon as the weather front begins to approach and move offshore later tonight.

Wednesday could start with some clouds but we should go partly to mostly sunny before too long with highs reaching into the 80s. Thursday looks good with sunshine and highs in the 70s to near 80. Friday and Saturday we will warm up with highs in the 80s both days and Saturday’s highs will be in the 80s to near 90 away from the ocean. No rain is forecast through Saturday evening.

SATURDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES

Weather Conditions Improving 4 Great Days Ahead

Overnight Saturday night into Sunday morning a cold front drops southward from Upstate NY and triggers off some showers and thunderstorms. It also sets up an onshore flow for areas north of the front so temperatures will be about 10 degrees lower and in the 70s. How much cloud cover remains a question as does the chance for showers which we will leave in the forecast for Sunday & Monday at least for now.

To the south there is a ton of tropical moisture all getting fed northward by disturbed weather in the NW Caribbean. This moisture will be heading northward regardless of whether a tropical storm develops or not. JOESTRADAMUS has more on this in his latest post on the tropics.
