Sunny Hot Afternoon Humidity Reasonable

If it is going to be hot let it be hot with reasonable humidity like we have this afternoon. Temperatures have reached the lower 90s inland and in the 80s along coastal areas. We also have lots of sunshine with deep blue skies and no haze. Humidity levels are in the 25-35% range with dew points in the 50s making it manageable. To the north we see clouds with the next cold front moving slowly southeastward and some of those clouds will arrive this evening. To the south in the lower right we can see the northern half of Tropical Storm Chris with the eye wobbling to the northeast. Chris is about to begin its acceleration to the northeast and will be passing well offshore over the next 2 days. It looks like it may have reached hurricane status this afternoon with an Air Force plane finding a 984 mb pressure. The upgrade should occur shortly.

Nothing is showing up on the radars at the moment. We might see a few thunderstorms pop up this evening but they should be widely scattered and most of us won’t see any.

The next 2 days look quite nice with sunshine low humidity and temperatures in the 80s. Dew points will be in the low 50s which means dry conditions. Friday the humidity starts to move up somewhat but nothing outrageous and we will still have sunshine. Humidity starts to climb over the weekend with very warm humid conditions and the chance for some pop up scattered thunderstorms but again most will probably not see much if anything at all.
