Winter Weather Advisory Northern N NJ, Hudson Valley Southern New England

There are no important changes in the forecast for tonight. Clouds are increasing this evening as low pressure heads northeast into West Virginia and then redevelops off the coast overnight. The rain snow line will likely reach NYC & Long Island at some point as well as pushing just north of Route 78 before it comes to a stop. Snow will develop between 7 & 10pm and then change over to sleet or just rain between 1 and 4am before it tapers off and ends. North of Route 287 and in all of Connecticut except maybe just south of 95 it is mostly a snow affair. The snow forecast map remains the same.

SNOW FORECAST SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY 2/17-18/2019

Areas to the south of Route 195 in New Jersey and much of the Southern half of Pennsylvania downinto North Central Maryland it will be a wintry mix or just some freezing rain that turns to rain and that ends during the early morning hours. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for much of Northern New Jersey, Eastern and Southern Pennsylvania (except the Southeast), the Hudson Valley, and Connecticut. No additional areas have been added this evening.

REGIONAL RADAR

storm free

We are beginning to see a gradual expansion of the activity on the regional radar this evening and we should start to see the local radars below rev up after 7pm and spread northeastward.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

Weather conditions improve Monday though there may be some residual snows to the east across Southern New England and perhaps Long Island though it should be light enough for little additional daytime issues. We will turn colder into Tuesday with sunshine and highs in the 30s. Then we set up for another snow to ice to rain event for Wednesday.
