Wednesday Weather Wonderful

We had another winner of a day today with sunshine but there was a southeast wind which created some temperature issues even inland where thermometers got stuck in the lower 70s while coastal locations didnt even make it out of the 60s. This has to do with the high sitting just to the east of Long Island which put us in an onshore flow. Also the water temperatures have been cooled down to near 60 in some areas thanks to the long upwelling of the last 5 weeks from all the hurricanes.

REGIONAL RADAR

Satellite shows another nice night ahead with mainly clear skies across much of the Eastern US. The radars remain silent which will be the case possibly until the weekend. Wednesday looks nice and sunny with highs in the mid 70s to perhaps near 80 in some of the warmer inland areas. There will be more of a southwest wind on Wednesday versus a southeast wind which will bring temperatures up. Thursday is still on course to be the warmest day of the week as a weak cold front moves through. Temperatures should reach into the 80s in most places before we cool off.

Friday it is back to cooler air and an ocean wind along with some clouds. Highs will be 10 degrees or so lower than Thursday. A warm front will set up to our south and that will keep us in clouds into Saturday. There is the risk for a passing shower along with some fog. The weekend doesn’t look picture perfect but not a washout. The warm front should move to our north and that will at least take temperatures into the 70s to near 80 both Saturday and Sunday.

Monday and Tuesday next week we could be dealing with rain from a possible tropical system coming out of the Northwest Caribbean. Check out Joestradamus’s latest post on this as there could be a soaking rain in the offing which will be much needed. It has been bone dry here for the last 5 weeks.
