Weather Models Wet Unsettled Week Ahead
With the blocking across the North Atlantic we are going to see some rather unsettled weather all this week with opportunities for rain all week. It won’t be raining every waking minute and there will be dry periods like today for instance. But we will have several systems to deal with this week and each one will bring some wet weather. The first is on Monday as a cold front moves through.
WEATHER MODELS SHOW BLOCKING PATTERN
The blocking pattern we are seeing is not anywhere as strong as the block from 2 weeks ago. It is strong enough to displace the jet stream in the east south of where it otherwise would be. Once Monday’s system moves through, we will see that front stall out and a serious of lows will be running through the northeast all week.

The hard part at this point is figuring out track and how much rain will fall. A little bit east or west could be a problem with rain amounts.
WEATHER MODELS GFS RAINFALL FORECAST
The rainfall forecast on the gfs is spread out over the entire week which would be on the order of 1 to 2 inches. This would not be a big deal. It’s just that we will have to deal with lots of clouds all week. How this blocks breaks down (or doesn’t break down) will impact the Memorial Day weekend. We will have more on this later today.
