HURRICANE WARNING CONTINUES MISSISSIPPI ALABAMA GULF COAST
GORDON REMAINS A SMALL TROPICAL STORM 60 MPH
TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS SE LOUISIANA, WESTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE
We have not seen much change overnight in the structure of Tropical Storm Gordon. It has a small core with top winds of 60 mph. It hasn’t changed much in terms of pressure or top winds overnight. At the moment most of the convection seems to be tilted to the east of the center. Not much is going on weather wise this morning across the warning area. There is still some time for Gordon to organize and strengthen to a minimal hurricane. Upper air conditions are favorable and Gulf of Mexico water temperatures are in the upper 80s. Time works to minimize any strengthenng as landfall will occur overnight.
GORDON SATELLITE
The biggest impact from Gordon will likely be rainfall. The storm will move inland and keep on moving so this is not going to be the case of something stalling out and hanging around for a couple of days like Hurricane Harvey.
