Springlike 70s Central South Jersey 40s Eastern Long Island
Warm air is having success moving northward and temperatures reached into the 70s across Central & Southern New Jersey with 60s in North Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania. 60s also have pushed there way into the Hudson Valley and Western Long Island but over Eastern Long Island we still have clouds and temperatures in the 40s.
Once again tonight low clouds and some dense fog will develop as temperatures settle in the 40s to lower 50s. Some spotty drizzle is also possible along the immediate coast. Rain is occurring well to the north along the Canadian border where the boundary between warm and cold air currently sits and will sit for another day.
US SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Wednesday is a repeat performance of Tuesday with highs into the 70s except along the immediate coast where it will be in the 50s and even some upper 40s right on the beaches. A cold front comes through Wednesday night and high pressure with colder air builds in for Thursday. Temperatures in some areas will be 30 degrees colder. There will also be a bit of a wave on the front and a bit of overrunning so we think there could be some freezing rain or some wet snow in areas inland north and west of the coast. Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Catskills, and the Hudson Valley/Connecticut stand the highest chance of seeing some frozen/freezing precipitation and even some accumulation can’t be ruled out in those areas. A cold rain is likely along coastal areas. This should all be over with by Friday morning. More rounds of rain will arrive later Friday and over the weekend with several waves of low pressure moving northeastward.
