Snow Ending Next Storm System Arrives Late Sunday
Everything has played out according to plan from last night’s developing low to the south. Cold air was a little more important and after a start of rain and sleet snow has taken over across Long Island. Elsewhere it has been mostly snow for New Jersey from the turnpike north and west with a transition zone just north of Route 195. Across the Hudson Valley, NYC, and Connecticut it has been mostly snow from the get go. This is all coming to an end this morning.
REGIONAL RADAR
Regional and local radars this morning show snow over head. The radar actually is rather impressive at the moment but look for the back edge to begin exiting from west to east and it should all be done between 7 and 10 am.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Weather conditions improve during the course of the day with decreasing clouds and increasing amounts of sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Skies will be clear tonight with most lows in the mid 20s to lower 30s.
SUNDAY STORM NUMBER 3
Now comes the next system in the hit parade. Look for increasing clouds with snow developing from south to north during the mid and late afternoon. We are continuing to favor a more suppressed weaker system which means colder and more snow. We will review are early call snow forecast map for Sunday night later today. I think the max area as far as snow accumulations are concerned will be 3 to 6 inches but i will likely be tucking bands a little north or a little south later today. For now we will leave things be.
