Severe Weather Risk Friday 08182017
We have two rounds of downpours and thunderstorms for Friday. First off no weather issues this evening or most of tonight other than some arriving clouds. Late tonight, probably close to daybreak we will see some downpours and possible thunderstorms move through with some briefly heavy rain. The satellite loop shows a strong system moving across the Great Lakes with a weather front approaching the coast. Temperatures overnight will be in the mid 60s to lower 70s.

REGIONAL RADAR
Radars tonight are showing some scattered showers and thunderstorms well to the west with some downpours over Southern New Jersey. Those should wind down in the next few hours.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Round two comes Friday evening as the front approaches and some of those thunderstorms could be severe but they should be scattered in nature and not all of us will see thunderstorms Friday evening. It will be a warm humid day with highs in upper 70s to middle 80s.
There are no changes in the weekend outlook and no changes in the outlook for Monday which is of course the long awaited solar eclipse. Sunshine with just a few clouds will be the story for each day with highs in the 80s and a few spots could touch 90 degrees. On Monday we expect the sky to be 80% free of clouds so most should have an unobstructed view of the solar eclipse.
