The steam bath has sent temperatures into the 90s and heat indices well over 100. Dew points are in the 70s so the atmosphere is saturated with lots of tropical moisture. Now the upper trough to the west is swinging eastward and the juiced up atmosphere is reacting as thunderstorms are now developing on the radar. Temperatures will be lower than today topping out in the 80s. Thunderstorms will likely develop again in the afternoon and evening. Then it is on to the heat and humidity for Friday and the super heat for the weekend. Highs on Saturday will approach or even go over 100 degrees in some places with heat indices 110 or higher.
