Record Cold November Weekend Rain Wet Snow Monday?
We hit bottom this morning in the upper teens and lower 20s in most places setting record lows. Some places set record lows for Friday as well as the temperature fell to the low of Friday by 11:59pm. There could be a third round of record lows tonight but that will depend on the clouds to the west that you can see on the satellite loop. They are streaming eastward behind the core of the cold air which will be slowly edging eastward today. Highs this afternoon with lots of sunshine will only be in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
SATELLITE LOOP
REGIONAL RADAR
At least we have no storm systems to worry about this weekend as the radars will be quiet and calm for the most part into Sunday night. We are looking at clear skies giving way to some clouds tonight but where it is clear and winds are calm, temperatures will fall into the upper teens and lower 20s. It is possible that those lows could be achieved early and then temperatures hold or even rise during the early morning hours. Sunday look for temperatures to moderate with clouds and some breaks of sun. Highs should reach the mid to upper 40s.
NAM MODEL MONDAY INTO TUESDAY CLICK TO ANIMATE
Days ago weather models were showing some rain or showers for Monday. Then they backed off completely. Now it seems that a weak disturbance will be swinging through Monday with clouds at the very least and we have to mention that there could be some rain. The atmosphere is cold enough that in some areas inland of the coast some sleet or wet snow could mix in. This isn’t too different from what happened a few days ago when low pressure passed to our south with borderline cold air. Some places inland along and north of Route 84 saw their first flakes and i think it is possible again. Temperatures Monday will be just into the 40s.
