Sunshine Spectacular Saturday Saturday Mix Sun & Clouds Sunday

Blue skies and sunshine are on display today. We have finally gotten a decent weekend with seasonal temperatures and a minimal amount of rain. Today we will see no rain at all from start to finish. The satellite picture  is showing quiet conditions with not much in the way of cloud cover. Some patchy clouds to the northwest are sliding southeastward. Much of that cloud cover will settle to the west and south of us today. Even if some of it slides in, it should not completely eliminate the sun. Today is the third round of the PGA Golf Championship at Bethpage NY on the Bethpage Black course and there are no issues. High temperatures this afternoon will reach the low to mid 70s just about everywhere except along the immediate coast.

We are going to transition to somewhat higher humidity on Sunday as a weak warm front approaches and moves through. This might trigger off a brief shower before daybreak but other than that we should see a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the 70s. Weather models suggests showers and some thunderstorms will develop across Pennsylvania Sunday afternoon. We think any showers stay away until evening at the earliest or Sunday night.

Showers and thunderstorms should play out at night and be gone by Monday morning. Monday will be a warm day with a west wind and some sunshine. This should send temperatures rising into the 80s in most locations. This will be the warmest day of the spring season so far. Cooler dry air returns on Tuesday.

It seems that the next storm system in the Plains is going to track so far to the west of us that we may have 2 or possibly 3 days of decent weather next week (Tuesday through Thursday) with some sunshine each day and highs in the 70s. An early look at the approaching Memorial Day holiday weekend show a chance for showers with a cold front next Saturday but it could be nice and dry for Sunday and Monday. Of all the holidays that we enjoy during the late spring/summer season, Memorial Day and the weekend that goes with it is the one that stands the best chance of having weather issues on one or more of the days. If we can manage to get nice weather on 2 of the three days we would call that success.
