Nice Springlike Day Highs Close to 70 Degrees
After a nice day on Sunday where we took highs to the 50s to near 60, let’s add another 10 or so degrees to the numbers today. The launching pad was set this morning as we bottomed in the 30s to near 40. That is enough to certainly take us up into the mid and upper 60s and warm spots touching 70. The satellite picture this morning is showing cloud free conditions for the most part so unless we get a rush of high clouds to the west, nothing stops us from taking a run for 70 degrees. The exceptions will be the immediate coasts where sea breezes are likely to develop. Radars are quiet today so there are no shower issues.
Tonight we will likely see clouds rolling in ahead of a cold front and that will hold temperatures overnight, keeping them in the 40s to near 50. Tuesday look for more clouds as the cold front nears. There could be a few passing showers with the front Tuesday afternoon and evening but the rain won’t amount to much. Highs will reach the 60s.
We will see improving weather conditions on Wednesday with clouds and some sun but another weaker system will pass through Wednesday night into early Thursday with a few passing brief showers. This will not be a big deal. Then it gets better during the day Thursday but another front approaches for Friday.
You may recall a week or so ago how weather models were making a snowstorm with a deepening low off the Middle Atlantic Coast. In reality the low is in Southeastern Canada with a trailing cold front and the likelihood for some showers on Friday. Highs will be in the 50s. The good news is that the weekend should be dry with some sunshine though on the chilly side.
