Jose No Longer Tropical Record Highs Ahead
Jose No Longer Tropical Record Highs Ahead
After almost 17 days of existence Jose is no longer with us as a tropical cyclone. It is still there off the coast of Southern New England east of New Jersey but it lost all its tropical characteristics and will gradually weaken and dissipate offshore. Jose will still have an impact on the track of Hurricane Maria which we will discuss later this afternoon once all the new models are in for the day. In the meantime we have clouds offshore and sunshine around much of the area. It is a bit breezy near the coast but the warm air mass in the east sets up a September heat wave of sorts with temperatures reaching into the 80s.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Rain bands from Post Tropical Jose are offshore and are not going to bother anyone from here on. Over the next 3 or 4 days with a bit upper high in the east and all the colder air in Canada and the west we will see record highs this weekend. Temperatures will reach the middle and even the upper 80s for much of the region. It should be a little cooler along the coast as local sea breezes develop. No rain is forecast through at least midweek.
