Now that the Independence Day holiday weekend is here it appears that the weather will be cooperating most of the time. Yes there will be interruptions with showers and thunderstorms but that will be for a minority of the time. The weekend starts out very warm to hot and humid and then transitions to very warm and a little less humid Monday and Tuesday Here are the highlights
HOT HUMID WEATHER FRIDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE UPPER 80S TO LOWER 90S…WATCH FOR LATE DAY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS
VERY WARM AND HUMID SATURDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE MID 80S TO NEAR 90 EXCEPT COOLER AT THE SHORE…SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE LATE IN THE DAY WEST OF NEW YORK CITY AND THE COAST AND AT NIGHT IN MOST AREAS. THESE WILL BE SCATTERED IN NATURE WITH PERHAPS ONE OR TWO ORGANIZED LINES
VERY WARM AND SOMEWHAT HUMID ON SUNDAY WITH SUNSHINE AND CLOUDS BUT I THINK WE WILL BE THUNDERSTORM FREE. HIGHS WILL BE IN THE 80S TO NEAR 90.
MONDAY LOOKS LIKE A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS, SLIGHTLY LOWER HUMIDITY WITH THE CHANCE FOR A LATE DAY ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM. HIGHS MOSTLY IN THE 80S
TUESDAY 4TH OF JULY LOOKS SUNNY AND LESS HUMID WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW TO MIDDLE 80S! NO SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST.
As far as severe weather is concerned, Saturday and Saturday night is the one stretch where there is a risk of severe weather per the Storm Prediction Center as a cold front approaches and moves through Saturday night.
There are no issues with the tropics. No issues with marine air or an onshore flow. If you are at the beaches this weekend sunscreen is mandatory. Local sea breezes will keep things cooler. Happy Independence Day and be safe!
