Harvey Remnants Saturday Night Into Sunday
Noreaster Moving Offshore
We are watching the storm system that never did get quite tropical now moving away as a mid fall noreaster and it did feel that way today with temperatures just in the 60s and a cold rain that fell mainly from New York City & Long Island southward. North and west of the coast it was mainly a cloudy raw day with little if any rain. As this system moves further offshore skies should begin to clear from west to east late tonight although it may not clear out along the coast until around or after daybreak.
SATELLITE LOOP
REGIONAL RADAR
Radars are showing the rain beginning to slide eastward and it should be ending shortly across New York City and a bit later on Long Island and in Southern New Jersey.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
There are not changes going forward with sunshine developing on Wednesday with highs in the 70s to near 80. Thursday will be warm and bit more humid than it has been and there is the chance for a late day shower or thunderstorm though no severe weather is forecast. Then a shot of very cool air will come for Friday into Saturday morning. Friday will be an autumn like day with sunshine and a gusty wind. Highs just in the upper 60s to lower 70s and by Saturday morning we will be in the 40s to lower 50s for the coolest night we have seen here since early June.
SATURDAY MORNING FORECAST LOWS
By Saturday the remnants of Harvey will be moving eastward as a low pressure system across the lower Ohio Valley. With a high to the north an onshore flow begins with increasing clouds and highs in the 70s. Then Saturday night into Sunday morning we will see some rain. Its hard to say how much though we do know it won’t be anything like what we are seeing. However they might be a core of tropical moisture that holds together and somebody could wind up with an inch or 2 of rain.
GFS RAINFALL SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING
Once this system plays through weather conditions should improve later Sunday and Monday Labor Day should be nice and sunny with highs in the 70s.
