Early Summer Beach Weather Continues Into The Weekend
What an absolutely beautiful day this was and ideal for the beach! We had cloud free skies all day long for the most part. Temperatures reached the middle to upper 80s. Dew points where at 60 or less in most places making for a comfortable day humidity wise. There is more to come for the next 3 days with some subtle changes each day. The chances of thunderstorms are minimal but we do have one of those chances this evening as a week disturbance moves through. We will likely see a line of showers and storm form late this afternoon. The seeds for this are in Upstate NY where you can see a narrow band of clouds forming. These storms will move east and probably threaten northern areas with a shower or thunderstorm this evening from Northwest New Jersey to the Catskills and parts of the Hudson Valley. They won’t last long and will fall apart and disappear shortly after sunset. Most of you won’t see any. Tonight will be mostly clear with lows mostly in the 60s to near 70 in the warmer urban locations.

Radars are showing a broken line of thunderstorms with one area moving through the Catskills. The other is further south between Scranton and Allentown. Both areas are moving southeast. They are reaching their peak intensities now and they should start to weaken in the next couple of hours.

There are no important changes in the outlook going forward. Thursday will be very warm to borderline hot with highs in the mid 80s to near 90 or so. Humidity levels will still be reasonable. We will enjoy another day of mostly sunny skies and no thunderstorms threaten on Thursday. Friday will be another sunny day with temperatures in the upper 80s to a few lower 90s. The humidity will be a little higher Friday but will be just below uncomfortable levels in my opinion.
Saturday is a hot humid day with some sunshine with highs reaching the upper 80s and lower 90s in most places depending on how much sun we get. The first of two cold fronts will approach Saturday evening with some showers and thunderstorms. They should be long gone by Sunday morning. Sunday we will see sunshine with a northwest wind and highs in the 80s to near 90 until the second front passes. passes. Humidity levels will be dropping Sunday and drop further once the second front passes Sunday evening. We don’t expect any showers on Sunday as the air will be too dry. Except for the minor interruption Saturday evening with thunderstorms, the weekend should be fine.
Monday should be fine for most of the day with sunshine and highs in the 80s with reasonable humidity. While hot humid air will be close by it will be cut off again by another front moving through Monday night with the chance for showers and thunderstorms ahead of it. Tuesday and Wednesday look good with some sunshine both days. It will be very warm but it won’t be that humid with dew points in the lower 60s at worst. We can’t really complain to much with a pattern like this. It will probably turner warmer and more humid on the 4th of July with some sunshine and highs in the 80s to near 90. There will be some scattered thunderstorms late in the day into Thursday night but it is way too early to know where and what kind of impact if any they will have on fireworks shows. Overall it is a solid stretch of summer weather ahead of us and for the most part temperatures will not be excessive and the humidity will be reasonable most of the time.
