December Arrives Calm Quiet Weekend Outlook
Last night’s cold front really didn’t produce much in the way of rain and that has now moved on to the east. Dry air behind it is moving in and we should enjoy a nice day of sunshine with just a few patchy clouds here and there. There are no weather issues at all today.
DECEMBER 1ST FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES
Since temperatures overnight didn’t fall much we would normally blast off on a day like today however there is slightly cooler air coming in and that should cap temperatures between 50 and 55 this afternoon. The only issue for the weekend is a disturbance moving across the Northern Plains and into the Western Great Lakes.
SATELLITE LOOP
REGIONAL RADAR
With respect to any precipitation the radars are pretty much silent going forward until perhaps late Tuesday. In the meantime we see a nice night ahead of clear skies and lows in the mid 20s to lower 30s.
SATURDAY DECEMBER 2 FORECAST HIGHS
The only issue for Saturday may be some patchy clouds that will move through around mid day to mid afternoon. Otherwise there will be some sun in between with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Sunday and Monday look nice and sunny with highs reaching into the 50s.
SUNDAY DECEMBER 3 FORECAST HIGHS
Overnight weather models are on course for the flip to a cold wintry pattern beginning Wednesday as a cold front moves offshore. This means we will see showers developing later Tuesday and lasting into Wednesday morning.
GFS FORECAST WEDNESDDAY DECEMBER 6 2017
Some areas to the west and north could see a change to sleet and snow before the precipitation ends. The southern part of the front may slow down and a wave is likely to develop off the Southeast coast and move northeast. That is something we will have to watch as there has been a tendency for models to not handle those waves well until the last minute. We have been surprised a few times along the way. Regardless it will be turning colder and in general a cold pattern seems to be taking hold for the longer term.GET JOE A CIGAR IF YOU LIKE
