Beautiful Afternoon Sunshine Low Humidity
Beautiful Afternoon Sunshine Low Humidity
We are enjoying a beautiful afternoon of sunshine low humidity and temperatures are in the mid to upper 70s over much of the area. There are some clouds swinging down from the Great Lakes with an upper air disturbance but for now there are nothing more than clouds and we don’t expect any showers here right through the weekend. The only exception to that may be well inland on Friday when a isolated shower could pop up. This is in response to a reinforcing surge of dry air now building up in the Northern Great Lakes and Central Canada. This is the big Canadian high that will be coming down and building into the East for the weekend. To the south looms Hurricane Harvey which is taking aim on the Texas Gulf Coast and it may strengthen to a major hurricane before landfall. It looks to stall along the coast and this could bring hurricane conditions for 2 or 3 days along with the prospects for a foot or more of rain in East Texas.

REGIONAL RADAR
No such worries for us here. Just sunshine and some clouds on Friday and mostly sunny skies are forecast Saturday and Sunday. Daytime highs in most areas will be in the 70s with the odd 80 degree reading here and there on Friday. Nighttime lows in the 50s to lower 60s. It is quite possible that we may have to wait until late next week for any rain and that could hinge on the ultimate track of Hurricane Harvey and the jet stream to the north. Some of the rains of Harvey could find their way toward us but it should be manageable.
