Great Weather Continues Warmer Temperatures

Another beautiful day has come and gone and we are going to see more great weather for the next 2 days and temperatures will be trending higher. High pressure both at the surface and aloft are creating super dry conditions in the Eastern US. Uou can see the clouds offshore and to the west responding to the clockwise flow. There is no eastward progress yet of the clouds and showers in the Northern Plains.

Tonight is another clear cool night. Many inland areas will be in the 40s while warmer urban and immediate coastal areas will be in the 50s. Then we will see sunshine on Tuesday with highs reaching the low to mid 70s. Radars are silent and will remain so until later Thursday when a cold front begins to approach.

Wednesday we are looking at sunshine and warmer temperatures with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Thursday will be very warm with clouds and some sun as a weak cold front approaches. Highs will reach into the 80s. Showers will be scattered in nature late in the day and then it turns a bit cooler for Friday with some sunshine and highs in the low to mid 70s.

Two things that stand out on the GFS forecast is the weakness of the cold front coming through here Thursday and the development of low pressure near Florida that may or may not become a tropical depression or tropical storm. The area of low pressure is broad in nature at least in the eyes of this model. The European has a similar idea though it develops the low in the Northwest Caribbean and moves it into the Eastern Gulf of Mexico. We will of course monitor this but at the moment it does appear to have the support to become a major system but it could become a big rain producer. Some of that rain could be drawn up the east coast late next weekend.
