Winter Weather Advisory Hudson Valley Connecticut
This morning we have a whole slew of Winter Weather Advisories up to the north of the coast which includes the Hudson Valley along and north of Route 84 and most of Connecticut. The warm front to the south is having a very difficult time pushing its way northward. The satellite & radar loops show clouds advancing rapidly eastward with the radars fairly loaded up.
SATELLITE LOOP
REGIONAL RADAR
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
We will see rain and a few heavier downpours today with temperatures in Southern New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania reaching the 50s and even some 60s while temperatures north of New York City and Long Island will have a tough time getting out of the 30s. Rain should end this evening with leftover clouds and Sunday morning lows in the 30s but above freezing in most areas
NAM MODEL SNOW FORECAST FOR TODAY MONDAY
Sunday Christmas Eve will be dry during the day with cloudy skies. Some snow will be moving across Pennsylvania and we should see snow breaking out inland Sunday night with rain along the immediate coast. The White Christmas line remains from just west of Philadelphia to north and west of Route 287 in Westchester County to north and west of I-95 in Connecticut. Models have been trending warmer and further north since yesterday and this could reduce the area seeing an inch or more of snow. We will continue to watch developments here going into tomorrow night and Christmas morning.
We will be keeping posting down over the next 2 days so that we can all enjoy the Christmas Holiday with a minimal amount of distraction. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AND THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!
