Weekend Weather Outlook No Major Issues Mostly Dry Until Next Tuesday

We have arrived at the end of the week and we are enjoying a nice Friday. Skies are clear on the Satellite from Central New England south to North Florida. We should see sunshine for the rest of the day. Temperatures are reaching the highest levels of the week as we hit upper 60s to lower 70s. We should mention that there is some fire risk. The combination of relative humidity values dropping to 25 to 30
percent and frequent wind gusts between 20 and 25 mph will contribute to an elevated risk of fire spread today. The radars are nice and quiet and it looks like will be dry through Monday of next week. Skies tonight should be partly to mostly clear. Lows by morning will be in the 40s with 30s in colder spots inland and away from warmer urban areas.

High pressure offshore will hold over the weekend but there are some issues that will impact temperatures. Some places will experience a wind off the ocean. This will be prevalent Saturday so high temperatures will be lower than today. We are looking at highs in the low to mid 60s. Skies will be partly sunny on the whole though some areas will see more clouds and than others.

Sunday will be a bit different for areas south and west of NYC. Areas inland and south will see more of a southwest wind and with enough sun temperatures will easily reach the 70s. However high pressure sitting near Cape Cod will create and onshore flow for coastal New Jersey and for areas from NYC northeast to Southern & Southeastern New England.

Those areas that are under the onshore flow scheme will see highs mostly in the upper 50s to middle 60s. Also those areas may have more clouds than sunshine on Sunday which will also hold temperatures down. However inland south and west with more of a south or southwest wind it should be partly sunny with highs in the 70s.

The same holds for Monday with changeable sky conditions with more clouds near the coast and east of NYC and more sun to the west and south with a similar high temperature profile for Monday. Tuesday brings the next cold front to the coast and with that the chance for showers.

Behind the front we have a strong trough coming into the Eastern US and that will bring down colder air for Wednesday through Friday of next week. It will create an unstable atmosphere with days of what I would describe as self destructive sunshine. This is where the day starts with sun but the unstable atmosphere causes clouds to develop and there will be some scattered showers around as well. Temperatures will be struggling Wednesday through Friday with chilly days in the 50s to lower 60s and even colder nights. No sustained warmth is in the forecast until this pattern breaks down and we see no signs of that through next week at least.
