Weekend Underway Nice Saturday More Humid Father’s Day Late Thunderstorms
We are going to enjoy a very nice Saturday. Dry air covers much of the East Coast down to the Gulf States. High pressure moves off the South Atlantic coast and heading to the east. We will enjoy a west wind, sunshine and temperatures that will reach into the 80s. Temperatures will be a little cooler at the shore. No weather issues are forecast and radars are going to be nice and quiet. Enjoy this beautiful Saturday because we are going to transition into a more humid air mass for Sunday which of course is Father’s Day.
We don’t expect Father’s Day to be too bad. Yes it will be more humid but there will be clouds and some sunshine which will take temperatures into the 80s. Inland areas stand a chance to see a shower or thunderstorm at anytime but for many of you particularly from NYC SOUTH, much of the day will be rain free so outdoor activities for Dad will be rain free and fine for outdoor activities.
However keep an eye to the sky late in the afternoon for some thunderstorms in all areas. They should be mostly well inland until evening. Sunday night there could be more numerous showers and thunderstorms as a frontal boundary gets close to us.
Next week brings a busy weather pattern to the Northeast. Sunday’s frontal boundary does not get through. It has to wait for a stronger low to the west that will approach Monday evening with another cold front. Monday will be a warm humid day with clouds and some sun with highs in the 80s. There is a good chance for thunderstorms late Monday into Monday evening. Some of these storms could be on the strong side.
Next week sees three weather systems in play beginning with the one on Monday and then another for Wednesday and a third for Friday. No hot weather is forecast all through the work week. The weather pattern is unfavorable for prolonged hot weather. In fact the strong jet stream pattern will keep things active with shower chances every other day next week. We will explore the long range in greater detail on Sunday. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and granddads!
