Week Ahead Weather Dry Rain Friday White Christmas Possibility
We begin this morning with some leftover precipitation that is moving through on the radar across Southern New England. Most of it is very light and barely reaching the ground. Other than that it is a rather quiet beginning to the morning commute and we should see some breaks of sunshine developing today with highs reaching the 40s. There isn’t too much happening on the satellite loop this morning as weather systems remain rather weak.

Once we get through the spotty precipitation this morning the radars will go silent probably until the end of the week. Skies tonight should be clear with lows in the mid 20s to mid 30s and Tuesday will be mild ahead of a cold front with some sunshine. Highs will reach into the 50s in most places before the front passes. The front will have very little weather with it. Wednesday and Thursday will be colder with some sunshine both days. Highs will be mostly in the 30s.
WEEK AHEAD WEATHER GFS FRIDAY SATURDAY CLICK TO ANIMATE
Friday starts the process of bringing in clouds and rain as a strong cold front approaches. We should see showers develops later in the day into Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Once that front passes through colder air begins to return and the front stalls out to our south and east. The overnight GFS model series both turned colder from the prior runs (no surprise ) and now seem to put the possibility for snow on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day back on the table.
GFS UPPER AIR FORECAST CHRISTMAS EVE
The GFS model is the first to move in this direction while the European and Canadian models which have also been doing flips back and forth are not quite there yet but may catch up to this later today.
