Yesterday was such a beautiful day across the area but there are some issues today. We have a weak storm out in the ocean that we have been discussing for the last several days and this system is just close enough to the coast to throw back clouds to the coastline to just west of New York City and the Jersey Shore. For areas west of NYC and coastal New Jersey into all of Eastern Pennsylvania including South Central and Northeast Pennsylvania it will be a nice day with no worse than partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 80s. For areas to the east of NYC including Long Island and Connecticut it will be more clouds than anything else and there is the chance that a shower will get pushed in from off the ocean.
On the wider satellite view there is no danger of the more impressive moisture coming and. The low is forecast to move northeast tonight and get out of the way for Monday. Where there are clouds high temperatures will be closer to 80 and along the shore it may not get out of the 70s with a northeast wind.
Monday looks good but then the next and only cold front of the week arrives on Tuesday with the risk of thunderstorms. That risk starts Monday night into Tuesday morning for Eastern Pennsylvania and then shifts eastward during the day Tuesday for New Jersey into Southern New England. Once that is done it looks very good for Wednesday through Friday as the front is forecast to move offshore and stall out, but it should be far enough east and south not to cause any problems. Low humidity and sunshine will dominate with seasonal temperatures.
You can begin to see the cooler air on Tuesday over Western New York and Western Pennsylvania with high temperatures in the low to mid 70s there. This is a nice air mass that carries us through the rest of the week.
