Weather Improves Later Today Showers Over The Weekend
The showers and thunderstorms from overnight have now made their exit to the east with just Southeastern New England left with them but they will be gone in short order. Dry air lies to the west so look for decreasing clouds as we move through the day and a gradual increase in sunshine especially this afternoon. Temperatures will reach to levels where they have been accustomed to lately. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s. The radars go silent this afternoon and will remain so right through Friday. Tonight we should see mainly clear skies. Most lows will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Friday we finish of the week with a nice day of sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Clouds will start coming in from the west during the afternoon as the next round of weather systems sets up in the East for the weekend but it should not take away from what will be a nice finish to the work week.
The weekend is not a washout but we will have showery rains to deal with from time to time. A weather front moves through Saturday morning with a weak wave along it as the GFS shows. Some showers will move in later Friday night lasting into midday Saturday. Notice that the showers weaken as the day wears on and during the afternoon we will gradually transition to just leftover clouds. Highs will be in the 70s. Then a second front approaches on Sunday and the chance for showers and a thunderstorm will come in the second half of the day so the morning will be mostly dry. Highs again will be in the 70s. There is the chance for a stronger thunderstorm or two in the mix. The front then moves through Sunday night leaving us with a dry Monday. Next week will be mostly dry but we do have a couple of weather systems to deal with.
Tuesday we see a disturbance dropping southeast from the Great Lakes and that brings some showers or a thunderstorms at some point during the day Tuesday, probably in the afternoon and evening. The second one is a cold front will be on Friday with the chance for showers and thunderstorms with that one. In between we should be dry for Wednesday and Thursday with mostly seasonal temperatures. The pattern does not favor prolonged heat or humidity or do we see such a pattern in the long range going into and through Father’s Day weekend. Actually we may turn even cooler over that weekend as a strong upper trough drops into the Eastern US.
