Weather Conditions Improving Overnight
The latest surface map shows low pressure reforming southeast of Cape Cod which is a little further south than was modeled. This is shifting the heaviest snow to the coast of Northern New England tonight. This storm will be winding down and moving along to the northeast. We are seeing clouds over the Great Lakes as the lake effect snow machine gets underway. If you are out driving overnight watch for areas of black ice in some places inland especially in NW New Jersey and near and north of Route 84 where temperatures have been below freezing since late this afternoon.
Radar activity is winding down. Friday morning lows will be in the mid 20s to lower 30s. Friday will be breezy with clouds and some sun with a few snow showers and highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Saturday we will see sunshine give way to arriving clouds as a warm front approaches. There could be a snow or rain shower Saturday night into Sunday morning before we see some sunshine and milder afternoon highs Sunday in the 40s to near 50.
