Weather Conditions Improving & It is On to A Warm
Increasingly Humid Weekend But No Rain
Things are finally beginning to move along in the atmosphere and that sets us up for a warm Friday and an increasingly warmer and more humid weekend. However we are going to have a stable atmosphere as a ridge builds into the East. Therefore no showers or thunderstorms are forecast through Sunday. In the meantime we see that except for a few showers in upstate NY and parts of Northern New England, today’s rain is done. It was mainly confined to Eastern Pennsylvania and Western New Jersey in a narrow east west 100 mile or so band. We still have some clouds around in the Northeast as well as offshore but an ocean storm is bringing drier air southward in time and that will help the cause. Clouds will be around tonight but there will also be some partial clearing of skies. Most lows will be in the mid 50s inland and upper 50s and lower 60s along the coast. Friday looks like we may have some clouds early but sunshine should take control. Highs will be in the lower 80s in most places with reasonable humidity.

There are no changes in the outlook for the weekend. Saturday will be sunny and very warm. Humidity will come up a bit but it should still feel okay. Highs Saturday will be in the mid to upper 80s. There could be a few inland spots that may try and approach 90 degrees, mainly well inland in Pennsylvania and a few of the usual New Jersey hot spots.
Sunday we will see dew points move up into the middle 60s and that will make in uncomfortable. Sunday should be a sunny, very warm to hot kind of day. Highs will reach the upper 80s to around 90. Temperatures should be a few degrees cooler along the shore with local sea breezes. Even though the humidity will be rising we are still going to be under an upper ridge so there should not be any showers or thundertorms.
Monday brings the next cold front. As usual the GFS loves to rush fronts through here during the morning hours that really don’t get here until late in the day and we are going with the slower European idea that we will see clouds, showers and thunderstorms during Monday, probably mid to late afternoon. Depending on cloud cover we will see lower highs than Sunday. I’m thinking upper 70s to some low to mid 80s inland. There is some severe weather risk with this front and we will be evaluating this possibility in the coming days. Dry air comes in for Tuesday and Wednesday with lower temperatures followed by another cold front later next week.
