One Last Round of Rain Then Very Warm Humid Friday Through Sunday
We have one more day of weather issues to get through and it involves a frontal system to the west which is finally showing signs of moving. It also involves an upper trough to the east that is finally beginning to give way and allowing weather systems to move along from west to east. On the radar this morning is a narrow band of rain in Eastern Pennsylvania that is not moving very much but it will move east into New Jersey and gradudally weaken is heads further east. This is going leave us in changeable skies and we will throw in the chance for showers from NYC west but to the east it may be more along the lines of cloudy to occasionally partly sunny conditions for Southern New England and Long Island. Either way temperature wise highs will just be in the low to mid 70s at best.

WEATHER RADAR
As low pressure develops offshore and moves away we will have leftover clouds overnight with lows in the 60s. Friday there will still be some remnant cloud issues early but we should see those clouds give way to sunshine and temperatures will start to rise and head back into a range of 80 to 85 with slightly cooler readings along the shore.
Humidity levels won’t be low but they won’t be high either Friday into at least part of Saturday but we will start to see humidity levels move up. High pressure to our west and south which has been causing heat across the south will build into the Eastern US this weekend however it is not going to bring hot air eastward. It will mean however that it will be what I would describe as very warm with increasing humidity.
We also will not have any showers or thunderstorms to deal with Friday right through Sunday since the high creates a stable atmosphere and there is no mechanism to trigger anything off unless something isolated pops up well inland. So it is summery weekend Saturday and Sunday highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. We might see some places get close to 90 inland. Sea breezes which are becoming less and less effective will keep shore areas a bit cooler.
The next risk for any kind of widespread shower and thunderstorm activity will come Monday as the European loop shows. We have an upper trough swinging through the Great Lakes and that will push the front to the coast. This will be the mechanism for showers and thunderstorms later Monday afternoon and evening. There will likely be some severe weather risk to contend with regarding this front. Monday will be very warm and humid with highs in the 80s depending on how much cloud cover we have ahead of the front. Behind the front it will turn a little cooler and a little less humid and the pattern continues to support the idea that long duration heat and humidity will remain elusive through next week and probably through the 4th of July weekend.
