Weather Conditions Improving Front Moving Offshore

We see weather conditions improving now from west to east as the satellite picture shows a strong storm over the Great Lakes. The associated cold front has moved through and the rain and associated heavy downpours as shown on the radars below have all moved offshore. Rainfall amounts were in the 1/2 inch to an inch range area wide. Some residual flood advisories remain in effect as some rivers continue to rise due to rainfall combining with melting ice. Skies will be slowly clearing out from west to east. The satellite also shows some dry air has already moved in though there are some clouds to the west that will swing in as we move into the evening hours.

Weather conditions will continue to improve overnight and it will turn colder with lows mostly in the upper 20s to middle 30s. The rest of the week will be dry. The upper air trough with this storm will move through on Wednesday producing clouds and there is the slight risk of a shower or flurry. Most temperatures during the day will be in the 30s and then we will drop to the teens and low 20s Thursday morning. Thursday will be dry and cold with sunshine and a few clouds. Highs in the low to mid 30s. Another cold night Thursday night and Friday will be sunny most of the day with highs in the 30s.

The weekend brings another round of warmer temperatures as winds turn south ahead of the next cold front. Saturday looks like the better of the two weekend days with sunshine. Highs in the 40s to near 50s. Then as the next front nears on Sunday some rain is likely to develop with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
