Weather Conditions Improve Later Today Sunshine This Afternoon
It is taking just a bit longer for weather conditions to improve this morning. We have the back edge of rain right on the coast as of 7:30am and the cold front will continue to move to the east taking the rain with it. The satellite picture shows the clearing line just to the west moving across Pennsylvania. We should see decreasing clouds and increasing sunshine from west to east this morning and everyone should be partly to mostly sunny by this afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 70s and humidity levels will drop nicely.
SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Regional and local radars show the rain making eastward progress. Some heavier rain is over Long Island and Southern New England as of 7:30am . In New Jersey the rain is done as the front pushes east.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Skies will be clear tonight with lows in the 50s to near 60. Wednesday will be nice and sunny for most of the day. Some high clouds should start to arrive later in the afternoon. Highs will be in the 70s. We will be setting up another warm front cold front combination for late Wednesday night and Thursday. There is a frontal wave that develops on the warm front and this looks to enhance an area of rain Thursday morning. Some heavy downpours are likely through the Thursday morning commute.
Once the rain ends from south to north Thursday morning it will be humid with another shower or thunderstorm possible late in the day or in the evening as the cold front passes. Highs Thursday will be into the 70s though 80s are possible Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. Weather conditions will improve for Friday with sunshine and highs in the 70s.
We are looking good for an increasingly warmer and increasingly more humid weekend with sunshine for Saturday and sunshine for most of Sunday Father’s Day. The next cold front will approach from the northwest Sunday evening which could trigger off some thunderstorms Sunday night. However we think that much of not all of the dayside Sunday will be rain free. Highs will reach into the 80s on Saturday. Sunday will be very warm to hot and definitely humid with highs in the 80s to near 90 degrees. An early look at the long range for next looks complicated with a series of weather systems moving along with multiple chances for showers.
