Weak Cold Fronts Cold Shots Every Few Days

Snow Shower Chance Sunday Evening

The weekend is here and today will be the coldest of the two days. We have some clouds around on the satellite but there is enough dry air around for skies to be no worse than partly sunny. This cold shot is along the coast today and will be moving out tonight so it will be short lived. However we are in a pattern dominated by a northwest flow from Canada for the next week or so. That means cold fronts coming through every 2 days or so with just limited energy and limited moisture. Meanwhile for today we should see highs mostly in the low to middle 30s. Radars are nice and quiet and will remain so through the first part of Sunday.

Tonight we should see clear skies with most lows in the 20s. Sunday it will be a little warmer ahead of a cold front and upper trough dropping southeastward from Canada. Skies will start sunny and then some clouds will arrive during the afternoon ahead of the front. Highs will be in the low to middle 40s. We will throw in the chance for some scattered snow showers Sunday evening as it turns colder. The risks of a heavier snow squall is there but it is not as high as it was last weekend.

Weak weather systems are the story for the week ahead. Monday will be dry with sunshine. Highs Monday will be in the 30s after Monday morning lows in the teens to lower 20s. Another front comes Tuesday so temperatures will move up into the 40s under partly sunny skies. It looks like the front comes through quietly with no issues other than clouds. Wednesday through Friday it looks like each day will be no worse than partly sunny with highs each day in the low to mid 40s. No major storms are on the horizon for the moment. March is arriving quietly.
