We have Warmer Air Moving East this week but there are some complications. First off however we will see temperatures trend higher over the next 2 days. Tuesday will begin the warmup with sunshine and temperatures back into the 50s. The warmer air moving east will plant itself firmly on Wednesday as long as a back door cold front stays to our north which I think it will. This will bring temperatures into the 60s on Wednesday. The only issue will be right along the immediate coast where a south wind is likely to develop in the afternoon. This will take temperatures down in the mid and late afternoon after the highs are reached. Other than clouds we should see a fair amount of sunshine.

Thursday we have a problem. A cold front will begin its approach from the west. The showers from the front won’t arrive until Friday. However the winds on Thursday will turn to the south and they will become rather gusty. This is going to shade temperatures down over a large portion of the area particularly the coast and areas north and east. However even inland areas will see some impact. Also combine this with clouds and it looks like temperatures will take a bit of a hit on Thursday.

Satellite loop shows last night’s storm system moving away and intensifying as it heads toward Nova Scotia and beyond. High pressure is building in and skies should clear tonight. We are set up for a mostly sunny Tuesday. Just some high clouds could get into the mix later in the day and Tuesday night.

Radars are turning quiet now across the region and should remain so until maybe late Thursday or Thursday night when a few showers will start to appear ahead of the next cold front. Both the Euro model and the other models show this pretty well.

Longer range showers are likely Friday before we dry out and right now the weekend is shaping up to be pretty nice with sunshine and typical; mid to late March temperatures. Some interesting developments in the longer term are showing up as we head into April which seems to favor below normal temperatures. I will discuss that further in my long range post later this evening.
