Warmer Air Cold Front Showers Thunderstorms Wednesday Night
We enjoyed another nice day though it was a warmer day. Some high clouds came through and that triggered off dew points going higher. Temperatures topped in the 80s. We did enjoy a fair amount of sunshine and looking at the satellite picture this evening skies are mainly clear with high clouds up in Central New England. Also high clouds are out to the west especially back through the Great Lakes but those clouds are moving more north than east so we see no real issues tonight other than it will be a warm night with lows mostly in the 60s. Some of the warmer urban centers may not get under 70 and that would be for the first time this season.
SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Radars both regional and local are quiet and should remain that way into Wednesday afternoon for the most part. It will be a very warm to borderline hot day on Wednesday with some sunshine and high humidity. Highs will be in the 80s to near 90 though it should be a little cooler along the shore.
This storm system a strong one but it is tracking well to our north in Canada. This shifts the severe weather risk area to the north and west of the immediate coast for late Wednesday into Wednesday night. Marginal risk reaches into Western New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania with slight risk covering much of the rest of Pennsylvania and Upstate NY well west of the Hudson River.
The front may not get through here until sometime on Thursday so the risk for showers and thunderstorms will be Wednesday night and perhaps closer to the coast on Thursday. The front hangs which makes forecasting Thursday a bit more difficult. We will leave in the chance for showers and thunderstorms Thursday with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Friday should be a decent day of sunshine with highs into the 80s.
Friday night brings another cold front through with not much action as it goes by but it does stall out just along the coast over the weekend. This puts us in a bit of a tough position. Nothing much happens on Saturday but the front ripples a bit on Sunday. The best approach for the weekend is for clouds and some sun both days and we will throw in the chance for a few passing showers later Sunday. It is in flux. Highs will be in the 70s to near 80 Saturday and in the low and mid 70s on Sunday.
