Warm Up Underway Into Thursday Showers Thursday Night
Stronger System Monday
Warmer air is moving in today and we do have some high clouds mixing with sunshine as that warm air arrives. Temperatures bottomed in the 20s and 30s away from warmer urban locations this morning. As long as we get enough sun this afternoon temperatures should reach the mid 50s to around 60. Precipitation with that warmer air is on the radars in New England and that precipitation is moving to the east. Temperatures tonight won’t be as cold as last night with lows mostly in the 40s except lower 50s warmer urban areas and the coast.

WEATHER RADAR
We do have a cold front approaching on Thursday and it will warm up nicely ahead of it. With a launching pad set up Thursday morning temperatures should make it to the mid 60s to around 70. We will probably have sunshine at least into mid afternoon before clouds from the front start to move in.
Showers with the cold front will hold off until well after sunset. A narrow line of showers will be ahead of the front and also a narrow line of rain behind it. In areas like Northwest Connecticut and points north as colder air comes in on the back side, some wet snow could get into the mix before it all shuts off before daybreak. Friday will be breezy and cold with some sunshine and clouds. Highs will just be in the 40s.
Now we move on to the weekend which will be dry through the daytime Sunday. Saturday we will see sunshine but it will be cold. Most highs Saturday will be in the mid to upper 40s. A cold front approaches Sunday so we see sunshine giving way to arriving clouds. Highs will be back into the 50s.
The front will move through Sunday night and then lag a bit on Monday so we will see showers into midday Monday. Behind the front the coldest air of the Autumn season so far will move in on strong northwest winds. Highs will be in the 50s before the front passes and then temperatures will ease in the afternoon Monday. Windy and cold conditions will prevail Tuesday into Wednesday as a strong storm to our northeast takes its time getting out of the way leaving us in a tight pressure gradient. Tuesday’s highs will be just into the 40s in most places and lows both Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning will be in the 20s to lower 30s. Both Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry days. Highs Wednesday will be just into the 40s again. A blocking pattern in the North Atlantic will likely keep this storm pinned off the New England coast and it may still be breezy for Thanksgiving day. For now Thanksgiving looks like a partly sunny breezy and chilly day with highs in the 40s. Another cold front approaches next Thursday night with a re-enforcement of cold dry air to finish off next week.
