Warm Humid Weekend Isolated Storm Chance Mostly Dry Through Sunday
We are sitting on the edge of the frontal boundary that is stalled offshore and dry air that is in upstate NY and New England. The result today was a milky sunshine for most but the clouds are not producing much in the way of downpours or thunderstorms. In fact this will likely be the story through Saturday night. We don’t see anything other than a shower or thunderstorm risk for a few areas many inland and if they happen they should be scattered to isolated in nature and if you get one it shouldn’t last long.
SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Local radars aren’t showing much of anything nearby. The regional radar shows some thunderstorms developing in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania but they aren’t moving very much. They will likely play out into this evening and disappear after sunset.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Tonight will be warm and somewhat humid especially from NYC & New Jersey southward with most lows in the 60s to lower 70s. There should be nothing more than a few passing clouds. Saturday will feature clouds and some sun and the chance for a scattered or isolated shower or thunderstorm. Temperatures will be in the middle to a few upper 80s. It should be a good beach day. Clouds will be filtering the sun for much of the day. A cold front approaches Saturday night from the north but it won’t have all that much to work with. There might he a shower or thunderstorm scattered around overnight Saturday night.
Sunday might start off with a few clouds but we should see increasing amounts of sunshine. Dry air is poised to arrive but it will likely hold off until late Sunday or Sunday night. Temperatures will be warm Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 80s and we don’t expect any showers. The dry high builds in for a bit of humidity relief for Monday.
You can see the dew points really take a nice dive Sunday night into Monday with the 40s dropping down to about NYC. It should be nice and comfortable Monday with sunshine along with some high clouds. and highs in the upper 700s to lower 80s in most places. Unfortunately it is a short break as humidity is set to climb on Tuesday with clouds and some sun with temperatures in the 80s with the chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Another cold front arrives Wednesday with a better chance for showers and thunderstorms. It will be very warm and humid with highs in the 80s to near 90.
