Volatility Continues Weekend Forecast Thanksgiving Week

The swings back and forth continue as volatility in the pattern has increased. Cold front of varying strengths are moving along every 2 to 3 days and we will be going back and forth until further notice. Yesterday’s cold front moved through and now a storm is strengthening over Southeastern Canada. That is producing strong gusty winds this morning over our area along with some sunshine. Temperatures today are going to struggle in the 40s all day but from the standpoint of sky conditions this is definitely the best day we have seen all week.

SATELLITE LOOP

storm free

The satellite loop this morning shows both the storm to our northeast and the beginnings of another storm to our west as low pressure will be moving out of the Plains and head east toward us for the weekend. Clouds from this storm system will begin to arrive Saturday morning so tonight at least will be clear with less wind and lows mostly in the upper 20s to mid 30s.

REGIONAL RADAR

storm free

Much of the day time Saturday should be dry except in Eastern Pennsylvania and Western New Jersey where showers could develop by early afternoon as a warm front goes by. The bulk of showers will occur after sunset and overnight as the cold front moves through. Rainfall amounts will be higher as you head north.

NAM MODEL RAINFALL FORECAST THROUGH SUNDAY

volatility

The rain will be over before daybreak Sunday and you may wake up with temperatures in the low 50s but you will finish the day with temperatures down in the lower 40s with a strong gusty wind, clouds and some sun and a passing rain shower which cannot be ruled out

THANKSGIVING WEEK FORECAST

This is easy at the moment. All of next week will be dry. The one mild day will be Tuesday ahead of a weak cold front that won’t have much with it other than clouds. Tuesday will be the one day next week we will be in the 50s for highs. Monday Wednesday and Thursday will feature sunshine and highs in the 40s. Thanksgiving looks rather cold with highs just in the low to mid 40s but it will be dry and sunny. I don’t foresee any weather related travel problems not just here but through most of the nation.
