Upper Trough Brings Clouds Showers Tonight Saturday Rain Sunday Afternoon
We have a storm developing to our south off the North Carolina Coast. To the west an upper trough is swinging eastward with lots of clouds and scattered showers. Right now we seem to be stuck between the two and squeezing out a dry Friday afternoon. The storm offshore shore is not going to directly impact our weather but it will be slowing down as it heads northeast and as a result the upper trough to the west will be slowing down as well.
SATELLITE
We are seeing showers and a few thunderstorms moving across Pennsylvania south into Maryland and Virginia. A band of showers will set up in Eastern Pennsylvania and Western New Jersey tonight while areas to the east will just be in clouds. Lows tonight will be in the 40s.
Saturday will be a mostly cloudy cool day with most highs just in the 50s. There will be scattered showers around as the upper trough slowly moves through. Then as the trough passes east skies should partially clear Saturday night leading us into Sunday where the next weather system heads our way.
Sunday morning could start with some sun but clouds should increase quickly during the day and some rain or showers will follow during the afternoon into Sunday night. Where the warm front sets up to the south will determine how far south the rain shield will be. The low will be passing overhead Sunday night into Monday with a cold front. That front could get hung up briefly leaving us with some shower chances into Monday afternoon. Sunday highs will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Monday highs will be in the 60s. Tuesday and Wednesday will be breezy cool days with some sunshine. Another weather system follows next Thursday with increasing clouds and the chance for some rain later in the day.
