Tropical System Remains Disorganized
Judging from the water vapor images tonight it is clear that the tropical system east of the Bahamas remains disorganized. A broad area of low pressure exists but so far it has not been able to develop. While there was convection increasing during Tuesday afternoon much of that has now disappeared and the system remains a disorganized mess.
While conditions will be more favorable over the next 2 days, and a tropical or subtropical storm could still develop, the strong low pressure system forecast to develop near Cape Cod is going to gradually absorb it as it moves northward and then northeastward. We will continue to monitor this of course. The hope was that some of the moisture on Friday could get enhanced a bit and that possibility still exists. However the lack of development so far lessens the odds considerably for a widespread rainfall. By Friday evening at least on the GFS, the tropical system is pretty much gone from the scene.
