Tropical Storm Karl Moving Away
We are watching Tropical Storm Karl moving away from Bermuda and beginning to accelerate rapidly to the northeast. You can also see the cold front to the north and west of Tropical Storm Karl that is moving through our area this morning. Dry is is very close by and you can expect decreasing clouds and increasing amounts of sunshine from north to south as the day progresses. The north northeast wind is blowing and we have cooled down considerably. Many areas today will barely get back to the lower 70s before dropping into the 40s tonight.
We are noticing a few spot showers across Eastern Pennsylvania that are moving southeastward into Central and Southern New Jersey but it is a narrow weak band. These should pass through this morning without creating too much of an issue. Radars should remain quiet through Monday.
Tonight look for clear skies with lows in the 40s except low 50s warmer urban centers. Sunday looks fine as high pressure from the north holds firm. Highs will be mostly in the 60s. Sunday night will be quite chilly with clear skies and light winds. I would not at all be surprised to see 30s in some areas of Northwest NJ, Northeastern Pennsylvania, Hudson Valley and interior Connecticitut. Also it could drop to near 40 in the Suffolk County pine barrens on Long Island.
Monday we will see sunshine giving way to arriving clouds as the next front approaches. Rain looks likely for late Monday night and most of Tuesday on the order of a half inch to an inch. There might still be some clouds and the risk for a shower on Wednesday as low pressure aloft makes its way through.
