Hilda has been weakening rapidly thanks to strong westerly shear aloft which continues to rip the tropical storm apart. It is likely that this system will weaken further to a depression later today. The weakening storm is responding to the low level easterly flow and the track now takes whatever is left of the hurricane south of the islands.
nhcprogIt is possible that some of the showers will clip the big island but the only impact of consequence will be to the coastal waters with rough seas over the next few days.
nhcsatThe Atlantic remains sound asleep right now and no tropical storm development is forecast for the next few days.
