Tropical Storm Development Possible Next 5 Days
Tropical Storm Development Possible Next 5 Days
Two systems are now in play as far as potential tropical storm development over the next 5 days. The National Hurricane Center has increased the chances for both systems. Before we talk about the system in the Northwest Caribbean take a look on the satellite loop in the southeast corner, way way south east there is a strong tropical wave that is becoming better organized as it moves westward. This system is very far south along 5 degrees north and it is forming in an area that doesn’t see much development this time of year, if at all since it is so close to the equator. Nonetheless it is well organized and the National Hurricane Center does rate this a 40 percent chance of developing.
The National Hurricane Center is beginning to run hurricane models and forecast track spaghetti plot maps for the system in the Eastern Atlantic. Tracks are primarily west or west northwest to the Windward Islands ain about three days or so. Thanks to Tropical Tidbits for access to these maps
Meanwhile we have disturbed weather increasing in the Northwest Caribbean and this will continue through the weekend. Low pressure will form late in the weekend there . The National Hurricane Center has increased the chances of this system developing into a tropical depression or tropical storm to 60%.
