Severe Weather Threat Monday Tropical Update
It is ins’t often that the Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a risk of severe weather on the 4th forecast day but it does show it for our area on Monday so I thought I would give a heads up to everyone on this. There is no risk of severe weather over the weekend although there could be a scattered downpour or thunderstorm at some point. Most of the time the Fathers Day weekend will be warm and humid with some breaks of sun Saturday and Sunday especially away from the coast.
The two systems that are being watched in the tropics are still being monitored. The system in the Tropical Atlantic is becoming better organized this afternoon and the National Hurricane Center indicates that there is a 50 percent chance of this system becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm in the next 5 days. The system in the Northwest Caribbean now has a 60 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression or a tropical storm in the next 5 days.
We don’t see tropical depressions or tropical storms that often during June so it will be interesting to see if 1 or both systems develop into a depression or tropical storm. It could be a sign of the kind of season it is going to be.
