sat1Tropical storm Danny has an improved look to it this morning as the visible satellite pic shows and it is moving to the west at around 10 mph. With the storm in a low wind shear environment and the better appearance as the loop suggests, we could see Danny get stronger. However as we mentioned yesterday there are issues here between Saharan dust, dry air, and shear to the west, models now are shifting southward and weakening Danny into a tropical wave as it moves into the Caribbean. Remember folks that the weaker the cyclone, the more it reacts to low level easterly winds. So we will continue to watch this as it slowly evolves. Much of the longer term model guidance keeps shifting around so I will get into that later today.
