Tropical Storm Cindy Remnants & Weekend Questions

The satellite loop this evening shows clouds from yesterday’s cold front sitting offshore. That area of clouds extends southwestward into the Gulf of Mexico with Tropical Storm Cindy on the southern end of it. To the northwest across the Great Lakes we see a strong upper air storm and trough spinning away as upper air disturbances rotate around it. At least for tonight and most of Wednesday weather conditions here should be fine with clear skies tonight with most lows between 55 and 65. Wednesday should be no worse than a mix of sun and clouds with highs reaching the 80s. The upper air disturbance in the Great Lakes will move through Wednesday afternoon and evening with an isolated shower or thunderstorm.

On the radar this evening there actually are a couple of showers offshore. Much of this isn’t even reaching the ground. On the regional radar there are showers and thunderstorms in upstate NY but they aren’t coming here.

Looking at the jet stream pattern for Friday evening, we have a very strong jet stream pattern across the US  This keeps things from getting too hot or humid for more than a day or so. It also means weather fronts will be moving through every couple of days with the next one due Friday night or early Saturday. As far as the daily weather is concerned, Thursday looks great with sunshine and highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s in most places. Friday we will see sun and clouds with higher humidity and the chance for thunderstorms developing late in the afternoon in areas to the west, and along the coast at night. Highs will be mostly in the 80s. This jet stream pattern will keep things moving along and it should keep any remnant moisture from Tropical Storm Cindy to our south with that west to east flow. Right now we see slow improvement on Saturday depending on timing. Sunday looks like a great day with sunshine, low humidity and highs in the lower 80s.
