Tropical Storm Arlene Racing Westward
Tropical Storm Arlene Racing Westward
Tropical Storm Arlene continues to hold its own this morning with top winds of 50 mph. It is racing rapidly westward at almost 30 mph as it rotates around a large non tropical storm in the Central Atlantic. That storm is basically stalled out so Arlene is getting a counterclockwise ride around it. In fact some weather models still have it as an identifiable feature into the middle of next week since that Atlantic ocean storm isn’t going anywhere.
You can see the wider view here of Arlene and it is position with respect to the non tropical storm to the west southwest of it. The National Hurricane Center continues to forecast this to be absorbed but it has defied all expectations so far so who know how long it will last.
