Showers Moving Through On Radar
Showers Moving Through On Radar
We are seeing this weather front move through this morning with a band of showers and a few heavier downpours. Once this area moves offshore in the next few hours we will then spend the day with leftover clouds. There may be one or two more showers scattered around during the afternoon but that should be about it as far as rain is concerned. Temperatures today will be in the 60s except along the coast where clouds and an ocean wind will probably keep it in the 50s.
By the way if you look carefully at the satellite loop you can see a large storm swirling in the Central Atlantic. Over the top of that circulation and coming back westward is Tropical Storm Arlene which is only the second April tropical storm since the satellite era began.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
While there are some heavier downpours evident on the radar there does not appear to be any thunderstorms in the mix. Rainfall amounts will pretty much be on the order of a quarter of an inch or so with some spots getting a bit more.
HRRR MODEL SHOWERS MOVING EAST THIS MORNING
As far as the weekend is concerned I think that it is safe to say at this point that it will be dry as low pressure to our south takes an extra day or so to rev up and move up the east coast. Saturday we should see clouds and some sun with highs in the 60s. Sunday clouds will be around as well with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s due to a strengthening onshore flow. That will set us up for some rain developing as the day wears on Monday into Tuesday. Low pressure will be lifting up the east coast with rain before it moves out Tuesday night or early Wednesday.
