Thursday Gloominess Yields 4 Days of Sunshine

Just keep telling yourself one more day because we will finally see some sunshine and for more than one day. In fact we should see it for 4 days beginning Friday and lasting through Monday of next week. The gloom returns for a few days after that but we will worry about it after the weekend is done. 4 days of nice weather is a rare occurrence and we have to go back to at least last February to find something similar.

This morning weak low pressure is moving along with the first round of rain already done. There may be a second round of light rain or drizzle this afternoon since we do see some patchy areas of rain on the radar to the west and south but they don’t look particularly impressive. Otherwise today will be rather cloudy. Some breaks of sun are not impossible and temperatures will be in the 40s to near 50 at best through most of the area though South Jersey and Southeast Pennsylvania will be a bit higher than that.

Once this pulls out this evening skies clear with lows in the 30s. Then we begin 4 days of decent weather with at least some sunshine each day. The only issue to me is occasional cloud cover that we may have to deal with. Other than that we should be fine. Temperatures will still be below average with highs Friday in the 50s. At least we will see highs approach or even break over the 60 degree mark by the time we get to Saturday Sunday and Monday.

All this of course will come to an end on Tuesday as low pressure across the south which for now will be kept at a distance. The northerly flow in the jet stream and the low to east has it blocked up for now but eventually that will give way to a low moving up the East Coast. Clouds will increase Tuesday with rain developing Tuesday night and Wednesday. We will talk about this later today but for now focus on 4 nice days beginning on Friday and a cool but no worse than partly sunny weekend.
