Temperatures Bounce Higher Saturday Better Than Sunday 80s Possible Next Week

After yesterday’s very harsh conditions with temperatures in the 40s, gusty winds, and even snow showers, the nice thing about this time of year is that often times these kind of days are one and done and that is the case here. We have the satellite showing mainly clear skies and we should see more sunshine today than yesterday. That alone will take temperatures higher. So will the west wind which helps to warm things up. Highs today should reach into the 60s in most places.

There are no issues on the radar to worry about today and through the daytime Saturday. Tonight we should see clear skies mixed with a few clouds. Lows will be in the 40s. Saturday look for sunshine to slowly give way to increasing clouds. Highs will be in the 60s to near 70 degrees.

GFS MODEL SATURDAY 8PM

GFS MODEL SUNDAY 7AM

A storm from the Southern Plains heads into the Appalachians and the off the Delaware coast by Sunday morning. Rain will arrive in Southern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey Saturday evening and reach NYC and nearby areas around midnight or so and to Southeastern New England by 2 or 3 am. This is a 12 hour event so look for rains to end during the morning Sunday and in the afternoon in Southern New England and points east.

Rainfall amounts will be in the range of about three quarters of an inch to an inch. While it is raining temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s at best and the bounce a bit if we get some improvement Sunday afternoon. Monday we will see some sunshine with highs in the 60s. Tuesday we will see sunshine and highs reaching into the 70s.

Next week the trend will be warmer as the week wears on and it should be dry at least through Thursday. If the winds behave themselves and stay more westerly than southerly, then we have a shot for 80s on Wednesday (map above) and Thursday (map below).

This will be a nice payback for Wednesday’s severe weather and Thursday’s harsh cold. It appears April wants to go out on the warm side so we can forget all the volatility of this month.
