Sunshine Starts The Memorial Day Holiday Weekend

Sunshine Starts The Memorial Day Holiday Weekend

Beautiful Spring Friday Ahead of Memorial Day Weekend

We being this Saturday in sunshine as our satellite picture shows this morning. It also shows a band of clouds from Eastern Pennsylvania southward the Delaware coast and other clouds to the northwest. This is a warm front that is setting up to come through tonight with the first of two risks for showers and thunderstorms. This will not happen until after sunset so we should be in good shape today with sunshine into early afternoon followed by increasing high clouds later in the day and into this evening. Temperatures today will be impacted by a wind from the south so coastal areas will be in the 60s to near 70 while inland highs will be in the 70s.

Tonight brings a threat for a line of showers and thunderstorms and those will likely come through sometime between 9pm and midnight. After that we will see leftover clouds and temperatures that will likely hold in the mid 50s to lower 60s. Warmer and more humid air come in for Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds. Sunday’s highs are still on course to reach the 80s everywhere except perhaps the immediate beaches. Sunday remains the warmest of the three days.

Sunday  evening and Sunday night brings a cold front this time and that triggers off some scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday evening into the first part of Sunday night before the front passes to the south and we clear out Monday. Memorial day will be a nice day from start to finish with sunshine and highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s and no showers or thunderstorms to worry about either during the day or at night.

In the longer range for next week it appears we are setting up for some very warm if not hot weather for the middle of the week. Tuesday will be the transition to a very warm/hot humid air mass with a warm front and the chance for showers with highs in the 70s.
